Shown is a section of the warehouse near Utica, where 360,000 hundred-pound sacks of government owned beans are deteriorating while the government pays $10,800 a month for their storage. The beans are part of a 1948-49 price support purchase of $7,600,000 worth of beans by the Commodity Credit Corporation, of the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Already through spoilage there has been a dead loss of $3,080,000.

Photo is dated 1952.

Photo measures 7.25 x 9.25 inches.
