1959 Press Photo Torn and Anguish of a Father

Torn with anguish, Vicenzo Perco, cries as he watches his daughter, Frances, 18, being wheeled from the emergency room at Misericordia Hospital. The girl, beaten and raped, was found hardly conscious in an alley 300-feet from her home in a suburban area. She was found several hours after she had left a Newman Club Catholic Students' Dance at the Statler Hotel.
