1948 Press Photo Joy continuous Miner at the Kent Mine of Rochester & Pittsburg

This unit is in operation at the Kent Mine of the Rochester &Pittsburgh Coal Company. The machine can bite off coal at the rate of two tons a minute, no timbering is required except where faulted work areas are encountered.
