1950 Press Photo Fire Alarm on Women's Dormitory

A four-alarm fire in a women's dormitory of Manhattan State Hospital damaged the building and drove over 50 residents of the building into the night air. Here, Ann Bruton, credited with having spotted the fire and spreading the alarm hits in nearby building after being evacuated.
