1932 Press Photo Mrs. Joseph John Sheehan enjoys a motherly moment with her baby

Description
Mrs. Joseph John Sheehan holds her newborn son after a mix up occurs between the Health Department and another family sharing the last name. Mrs. Joseph John Sheehan had actually given birth to her third girl, with the hopes of having her first boy and a Mrs. Charles R. Sheehan had given birth to her third boy (pictured above) hoping she would have given birth to her first girl. Due to a mix up at the Health Department both families received what they had wished for, Mrs. Joseph John Sheehan held a baby boy, and Mrs. Charles R. Sheehan held her baby girl. Only after reading the birth column of the local newspaper did both families realize what happened. Both families were successfully able to fix the mix up without having the children be exchanged.
