1956 Press Photo The last Passionist Missionaries released by Chinese communists

The Rev. Justin Garvey (L), 41, of Grantwood, NJ, and the Rev. Marcellus White, 47, of Waltham, Mass., the last Passionist Missionaries released by the Chinese communists, arrive aboard the liner Constitution for rest and medial care. The priests were released from Changsha Prison and freed in Hong Kong last November. Garvey was imprisoned on spy charges in 1951 and White in 1952.
