Marjike Pennock, 17, a tuberculosis patient from the Netherlands, is shown with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pennock at Idlewild Airport. The reunion was doubly joyful since Marjike had originally planned to fly aboard the ill-fated KLM airliner which crashed in the Atlantic off Ireland with 99 persons aboard. The girl changed her plane in Amsterdam and boarded another flight. The Pennocks, who now live in Royal Oak, Michigan, had not seen their daughter for 17 months.

Photo is dated 1958.

Photo measures 9 x 7.25 inches.
