Gov. John B. Swainson (center) was offered up to 30,000 square feet of industrial space rent-free by Edward Land (right), a majorbuyer of industrial properties in Michigan. Land made the offer to get Swainson off to a good start in his program to attract new industry in the state. Alan Schwatrz (left) is Lands' attorney.
