Description
United Airlines is expanding its base repair and maintenance base at the San Francisco International Airport. Shown is a completed steel framework for a hanger. Approximately 500 tons of structural steel, fabricated at Bethlehem Pacific Coast Steel Corp.'s Alameda, California works, were used for the framework of the hanger, one of the largest on the field, measuring 162 feet by 190 feet. The hanger will be used by United to house DC-7 airplanes.
