1945 Press Photo Dr. Ernst Wolf exposes chicks to ultraviolet light emitted by lamps for experiment

Dr. Wolf's experiment has shown that exposure of eyes to invisible light delay dark adaptation and impairs visual functions even when the eyes themselves show no obvious injury. He concludes that protective lenses should be worn by welders and their helpers, skiers, fliers, sun bathers and others exposed to the radiations.
