Bloomington, Illinois - Chicago detectives (left to right), Roy Anderson, Cornelius Carr, and Tom Ladd pulverize through a sieve, soil dug from a rough plot of abandoned farm land, near Bloomington, in an effort to find bullets reported to have been fired in ground in 1933 from revolver used in Drake Hotel murder of Mrs. Adele Born Williams. Note stovepipe conduit at lower right, fed by a blow torch, employed to dry the clay soil being sifted.
