1936 Press Photo Tree Growing in Kitchen Wood Stove, Upper Silesia - nec52598

It is presumed that a seed was brought in with some kindling, and found live in the soot of the stove. The stove was only used occasionally, and after the tree had taken root, the owner decided she would no longer use it, but would permit the tree to grow.
