Credit - ACME and NEA The month-old Chrysler automotive strike was ended after a series of conferences between John L. Lewis, CIO head, Walter P. Chrysler, and Gov. Murphy and other mediators in the Governor's office at Lansing, Michigan. The agreement provided for recognition of the United Automobile Workers of America as the collective bargaining agency of its members employed by the firm. Shown is the demonstration outside the Governor's office when the agreement was announced.
