1954 Press Photo Ray Gillis, Best Finance Company Manager Fights Robbers

Credit - United Press and NEA Indianapolis - Ray Gillis, 43, manager of the Best Finance Company, tells Indianapolis police how he thwarted a holdup by five bandits. Gillis was slugged in the face by one of the armed holdup men when he defied their order to hand over the firm's receipts. Police arrested the bandits after a gun fight in which one officer was shot.
