1955 Press Photo Police Chief Orville Erickson Examines Bomb, Iowa State College

Credit -UPI and NEA In Ames, Iowa,Orville Erickson examines five sticks of dynamite used in a bomb found in an Iowa State College woman's dormitory. The bomb was discovered 20 minutes before it was set to explode when an attached auto horn sounded. College officials at first believed it a prank, but police said it was "no joke."
