The ornate "Shichiho Maru," Chinese-style ancient ship, belongs to Egawa-Machi, Rivertown. Made in 1876, it is the heaviest float in the festival.
...ornate "shichiho maru," an ancient Chinese style ship, was made in 1876 and is the entry of Egawa-Machi, a near-by river town. The youths wear "happi coats" and many of the clothes are made especially for the festival, which dates to 1819.
