1955 Press Photo Reynolds family on the Phoenix which they crossed the Pacific.

Description
The Reynolds family on board the 50-foot ketch Phoenix in which they crossed the Pacific from Japan to Hawaii. Left to right: Jessica, 10; Mrs. Earle Reynolds: Tod, 16, the navigator, and Doctor Earle Reynolds the skipper. They were accompanied by three Japanese as an amateur crew. Jessica kept a day-by-day record of the crossing. It took 46 days, most of them in rough weather, leaving a trail of cooking misadventures and bruises which Jessica tells about in the two-volume diary.
