Germany, industry, misc. The gingerbread industry in Nuremberg, Germany, dates back to the Middle Ages and is one of the city's major industries. Freshly baked gingerbread is packed in lavishly decorated boxes (upper) for shipment. Lower, bakers' helpers put on greetings and almonds.
