1964 Press Photo 30 Ton Punch Press in Cutler-Hammer, Incorporated Plant

The operator of this 30 ton punch press in the Cutler-Hammer, Incorporated plant stands idle while computerized control (right) slides a 4 by 8 foot steel panel into position under the press punch turret. Cutler-Hammer developed the tape controlled console to turn out switch panels. The press averages 50 holes per minute.
