1937 Press Photo Frank Murray With His Family Packing As He Leaves Hilltop

Mrs.Frank Murray Murray, whose name has been synonymous with football at Marquette university since 1922, wasted little time in preparing for his trek to the University of Virginia where he has accepted the job as head football coach. And, of course, hs footbal equipment, including jerseys, football books and plays charts, took preference over his personal belongings when he began filling his trunks and suitcases. He is shown here with his wife and two sons, who are giving him a lift with his packing. Murray's resignation as Hilltop grid mentor came as a distinct surprise but his many friends, sorry to see him go, nevertheless have nothing but good wishes for continued success in the coaching field. Murray will take over his new position March 1.
