Buhl, Idaho--"Sinking Canyon" grows, swallows up farmland. This air view shows how Idaho's now-famous "sinking canyon" has enlarged in the past few weeks, slowly encroaching upon adjacent farmland owned by HA Robertson, until it has swallowed more than 100 acres. In left center is the rock wall teetering along the new canyon bottom which observers expect to crash. When that happens it is feared new depressions will be opened up.

Photo is dated 1937.

Photo measures 10.5 x 9 inches.
