Actress Linda Darnell was critically burned over 85 to 90% of her body when a fire swept the suburban home of her ex-agent, Mrs Richard Curtis. Miss Darnell and Mrs Curtis had stayed up late to watch a 1940 film, Star Dust, which was being replayed on television. Miss Darnell is shown here in a scene from the film which she co-starred with John Payne.
