1950 Press Photo Fire started in Union Oil Co. when an explosion occurred

The fire started here in the Union Oil Co. (at ladder) when an explosion occurred. Months later Fire Chief Foley charged the fire was started by a band of incendiaries. The Union Oil Co. building was on what is now N. Water St., near Detroit St.
