Cloud cover over the southeastern part of the United States was photographed Friday by the new weather observing satellite, Nimbus I, launched earlier in the day from Vandenberg air force base in California. The round formation (right) is the fringe of hurricane Cleo over northwest Florida. The diagonal line of fleecy clouds (upper left) marks the lower section of a cold front that passed over Milwaukee Friday morning. This picture, made on the sixth orbit from 558 miles above Baton Rouge, La., takes in eastern Mexico. Space - U.S. - Earth - Photos
