Description
This airplane without wings is released from a B-52 bomber at about 45,000 feet. It has proved that body shape alone can provide lift and stability. U.S., moon landing vehicles. The V/STOL 142-A can tilt wings and propellers upright for vertical takeoff, then move them horizontal for a forward speed of more than 430 miles an hour. At Edwards Air Force Base, California, noise might be anything. Since 1946, what the Air Force conceived and built, Edwards has tested. The concepts are new and unbelievable, but they work.
