1974 Press Photo Prototype of US Air Force remote piloted plane in San Diego

San Diego, CA: US Air Force: Remote Controlled Craft: The first prototype of remotely piloted vehicles designed for the US Air Force were unveiled at the Teledyne Ryan Aeronautical Co.'s San Diego Calif plant. The craft, designated the YQM-98A were built under a $10 million contract. The planes can cruise at subsonic speeds for up to 24 hours.
