Description
Early destroyer gunnery was an uncomplicated practice. One man put in the shell, the biggest seaman n the crew rammed it home, the powder man put the powder in, the gun captain closed the breech and set the lanyard, and on and on. Today's modern, automatic weapons with radar assisted fire control were merely daydreams to these early Destroyermen (United States Navy) (Destroyers) (Miscellaneous) Comcrudespac photo)
