An Arctic weather an 81 millimeter trench mortar is tested by the ordnance department of the United States army at winter proving grounds in Manitoba province, Canada. When the temperature takes a dive the 900 soldiers at the camp get busy testing equipment and weapons of all kinds. The average temperatures are below those officially reported from the battlefields of Russia (United States) (Wars) (World War II) (Canada)
