Happy to be free again, Navy Captain James A. Mulligan Jr. (left) gave a thumbs up sign Monday as he prepared to board a bus for the trip to the hospital at Clark Air Base, The Philippines. Mulligan, of Pensacola, Florida was among the first group of prisoners of war released by the North Vietnamese in Hanoi. The men will undergo medical tests at Clark as well as receive a briefing on their finances, the status of their families and promotions given them while they were in captivity. The healthiest prisoners will be at Clark only three days before being sent on to facilities in the United States and reunions with their families.
