1973 Press Photo Bill Baird, former POW, at Clark Air Base in the Philippines

Friendly greeting---Steadied by two officers, a former POW, Staff Sargent Bill Baird of Wooster, Ohio, greeted Admiral Noel Gayler Monday at Clark Air Base in The Philippines after a flight from Hanoi. Baird was captured in South Vietnam in May, 1968. Hospital officials said the 22 year old soldier was suffering from a back injury which left his legs partly paralyzed.
