1952 Press Photo Man wades into flooded basement to shut off the power

Milwaukee Wisconsin: Disasters: Floods: The recreation room was flooded to bar height in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mercz, 4844 N. 52nd St. in a typical basement disaster in Friday's storm. A neighbor, Rex Merriman, 4829 N. 52nd St. who waded in to shut off the main electric switch, paused a moment at the bar. The sign says "Small by Mine: - the first word inadvertently misspelled.
