Melathion is a non-persistent insecticide relatively harmless to humans, livestock and other warmblooded animals. United States Department of Agriculture does not undertake or cooperate in any programs until department scientists evaluate the environmental, biological, and economic impact of applying available pest control methods as opposed to not taking any action at all.
