Description
Smoke, soot and steam were plentiful for rail and camera fans over the Labor Day weekend. Cameras clicked to record an unusual sight in the cornfields of Sauk County-steam locomotives double heading along the track of the Mid-Continent Railway museum at North Freedom. The two 2-6-0 Mogul type engines, built in 1884 and 1907, were operated together to conclude the daily steam engine season on the museum's four and a half mile branch line. There will be single engine steam train runs on weekends through September. Mid-Continent Railway Museum
