1955 Press Photo Nike missile with GI artwork "The Dirty Bird", Milwaukee

A GI artist named this Nike. All the personal of the battery were given technical instruction at Fort Bliss, then trained together as a unit. For some specialists the training period covered about one year. While stationed at the site, the men are given continued training in maintenance, repair and operation of the weapons system.
