Description
Strange Place-All tombstones are not in cemeteries, this one seems to prove. It is cemented into the basement wall of the Sanitary Plumbing shop in Sparta. It is believed the man who constructed the building in 1925, who hauled tombstones, replaced the stone and decorated his basement with the old one. The inscription on the stone in Norwegian reads, translated: "Under here rests the dust of Christine, wife of Ole O. Strommen. Born September 4, 1835, died May 3, 1878. (Sparta, Wisconsin)
