The field of art therapy has attained a new status at Mount Mary College. Beginning this month, the college will offer a program leading to a master of science degree in art therapy. The program, recently accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, is available to people who have bachelor degrees in a related field and the prerequisites needed in art, behavioral science and art therapy. "Art therapy is a human-service profession through which the client is offered an opportunity to explore personal problems and develop emotional, physical and/or learning skills through therapeutic art experiences," said Lynn Kapitan, director of the new graduate program. --- Milwaukee
