Mary Wilde, a counselor with the Milwaukee Council on Alcoholism, held a puppet named Early Bird as she presented an alcohol and drug abuse prevention program called BABES to third-graders Monday at Golda Meir School, 1542 N. 4th Street. The seven-part program is designed to give children information to deal with the problems of alcohol and drug abuse, and to teach positive living skills to prevent future substance abuse. The council on alcoholism is a United Way of Greater Milwaukee agency.
