Description
New model--Heikki Taponen at 6 foot 8 inches is the tallest player on the Finnish Olympic basketball team now touring the state. At 16, he also is the youngest. Coach Kalevi Tuominen is 5-10 and played on the Finnish team in the 1952 Olympics. The tallest Finn 15 years ago, according to Tuominen, was 6-3 and it wasn't until 1964 that the Finns had any player as tall as 6-7.
