Untitled (beso/kiss), 1992 by Fred Stonehouse. "Fred Stonehouse," a 10-year retrospective of work by one of Milwaukee's best-known painters, demonstrates that the 32-year-old artist has created a body of work that is rich, vivid, eclectic--and constantly improving. The exhibition is on view through November 15 at the Madison Art Center, 211 State Street, Madison. Curated by Rene Paul Barilleaux, who recently left the Art Center's staff, it surveys the evolution of Stonehouse's art from cartoonish, Philip Guston-inspired images in the early '80s to his most recent work.
