Bill Thomas with good reason, devotes most of his time to the cause of mental health. There was once a time when he had to escape from a Pennsylvania mental hospital or be killed. He related his experiences in a book, "The Shoe Leather Treatment," and his story was dramatized in a TV special, "The Other Side of Hell."
