1983 Press Photo Red-tailed Hawk released in wild Schlitz Audubon Center Bayside

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
The red-tailed hawk waited to be set free Wednesday at the Schlitz Audubon Center 1111 E. Brown Deer Rd., Bayside. The bird had been turned over to the Wildlife Animal Rehabilitation Cooperative, a wildlife program sponsored by the center and the Wisconsin Humane Society, for rehabilitation after being struck by a car last December. Tom Gaffney, who helped the volunteers exercise the bird since April, released the hawk.

Photo measures 9.25 x 7.5 inches. Photo is dated 08-18-1983.
