Singer (Martha Wright) prepares for her role in "The Merry Widow" in her dressing room in a New York City theater. After a two-week run she will go back to being a full-time mother, her main role in recent years. She starred in some of Broadway's most illustrious musicals, including "South Pacific" in 1951 and "The Sound of Music" in 1962, but when her last two children were born she decided to give up the theater.
