The City of South Milwaukee needs only four aldermen instead of eight, say a man and his father who are circulating a petition to cut the number of aldermen here in half. Anthony J. Tanaszczyks, 22, and his father, Anthony C. Tanaszczyks, both of 1701 Pine Street, would like to see one alderman elected per district instead of two in the April 7 general election. City officials, on the other hand, say such a system would never work.
