His six months in China turned into 26 years. When Gerald Tannebaum went to China in August, 1945, he thought his assignment to set up a radio network as an officer in the Armed Forces Radio Service would be over in six months. It was, but something happened. He fell in love with China and stayed. On a visit here last week he relived his China experiences over coffee with old friends, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cohn, 136 Mall Rd., Fox Point. Cohn and he were fraternity brothers years ago at Northwestern University, and the Cohns on a recent China visit found that Tannebaum's name opened doors for them, even though he had left China in 1972.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 05-09-1979.
