Sandy Kempen rests on the shoulders of Waukesha North teammate Kristin Swanson (above) after finishing second in the 300-meter low hurdles at the WIAA Division 1 state sectional meet Thursday afternoon. The girls team won the sectional title, but their male counterparts weren't as fortunate. Meanwhile, the North softball team beat rival Waukesha South, 6-2, in a regional final.
