1967 Press Photo Vladimir Tkachenko and his wife leave Soviet embassy for London

Russian finally leaves - Vladimir Tkachenko (center), a Soviet physicist, was helped by his wife, Galina, and an unidentified official as the couple left the Soviet embassy for a London airport Tuesday. After landing in Moscow, Tkachenko was put in an ambulance and taken to an undisclosed destination. Before leaving England, his wife accused British officials of inhuman tactics in blocking his departure. Britain feared Tkachenko was leaving against his will.
