The new twin-cam engine increases torque and horsepower to 100 lb./ft. and 93, respectively. Tercel is offered in two-door and four-door body styles with Standard or DX (above) trim levels. optional on the DX are anti-lock brakes (ABS), CFC-free air conditioning, color-keyed bumpers, power steering and a Deluxe audio system. Dual airbags and side-impact protection that meets 1997 federal standards are standard on all Tercel models.
