There will be no school band playing ponderous music, but the Menominee Indian School District's Class of 1977 will graduate June 5 -- much to the surprise of some people. The class will be small, but memorable. The eleven girls and two boys represent the first graduates of the first public high school on the reservation. John Tomasich, district superintendent, has led the Indian school district through a trying first year.
