1991 Press Photo Edgar Gierach & his storm damaged oats in Germantown, Wisconsin

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Soaked oats. Edgar Gierach, 81, a farmer on Cedar Lane in Germantown, looks over his field of oats, which was flattened by wind and rain during Sunday's storm. Gierach said the crop, which had been two weeks from harvest, may not be salvageable now. Gierach also lost the doors and a rail off his barn. One bright spot: Some of his flattened corn is rising again. (Disasters-Storms-Wisconsin)

Photo measures 6.25 x 9.25 inches. Photo is dated 07-10-1991.
