1983 Press Photo Gerald E. Turley on Trial on a Charge of Felony Abuse

Police officer Gary Frea testified Tuesday that he saw Gerald E. Turley beat an elderly prisoner without provocation in the reception area of the jail last January 6 while Turley was on duty as a jail guard. Turley, 49, is on trial on a charge of felony abuse of an inmate in connection with the incident. The prisoner, Anthony Bralit, was hospitalized after the incident.
